Music Review: Saskia Griffiths-Moore – “Matter Of Pride”
Here at Hear Pop, we’re always excited when an artist surprises us, and Saskia Griffiths-Moore has done exactly that with her latest single “Matter Of Pride.” While Saskia stays true to her folk foundation, this track showcases some really compelling pop undertones that caught my attention immediately.
What strikes me most about “Matter Of Pride” is how Saskia explores this gritty blues sound while weaving in those pop sensibilities that make the song incredibly catchy. The track opens with this infectious rhythm that immediately grabbed my attention during my morning commute, and by the chorus, I found myself completely hooked. There’s something about the way she delivers each line that feels both raw and accessible at the same time.
The production here deserves serious credit. The folk storytelling we know and love from Saskia is still front and center, but now it’s enhanced by these pop undertones that give the whole track this radio ready quality. I love how the driving beat creates this perfect summer anthem vibe, while her vocals maintain that authentic edge we’ve come to expect.
As someone who has followed her journey through her folk releases, I’m impressed by how she experiments with different sounds while staying true to her core identity. Her storytelling remains as sharp as ever, but now it’s wrapped in these memorable hooks that have been stuck in my head for days. The way she blends blues with those subtle pop elements makes me genuinely curious about what comes next.
“Matter Of Pride” feels like the kind of song that could easily crossover from indie playlists to mainstream radio, and honestly, it deserves that exposure. Saskia has created something that expands her sound while honoring her storytelling roots, and the result is one of the most engaging singles I’ve heard this year.
